CARNIVAL DAY is on Sunday 24th October 2010. Processions at 3pm and 6.30pm this year
The election of Miss Titchfield 2010 took place in front of a packed crowd at The Bugle Hotel on Friday 6th August. Our two independent judges had a hard task to choose the eventual winners from an entry of 7 young ladies. Finally the results were announced: Miss Titchfield, who will be crowned Carnival Queen in the Square, Titchfield just prior to the first float procession on Carnival Day, Sunday 24th October, is Rachel Nash aged 20. Rachel will be attended by Jade Knapp, 16, 1st Attendant and Aimee Matthews, 14, 2nd Attendant. Chelsea Walcroft, 17, is reserve.
When the winners were announced there was generous applause for all the girls, and congratulations were offered all around by everyone.
One of the entrants said when questioned, “I want to take part in something that has been happening for a very long time and be part of helping to keep it going for many years to come.”
Thanks to all the girls who took part, and thanks also to the Bugle Hotel for generously hosting the event.
The Carnival Ball, in aid of the 2010 Carnival, will be held ay a local venue on Saturday June 12th. Further details will be published here shortly.
Jayne and Maureen lead the singing of wartime favourites with music from John and Phil. More pictures in the Picture Gallery on the Resources page.
Thanks from the Bonfire Boys to our musicians and the Queen's Head and to all who came to have a good time and help raise funds for the Carnival.
The annual competition to select the TBBS Carnival Princess took place on Saturday 7th May at St Peter's Church Fete. 12 brave souls entered the competition on a chilly overcast and eventually rainy afternoon in the Old Vicarage gardens and Beth Parrett was chosen as our 2010 Carnival Princess. She and her newly elected attendants will ride in style in this year's Carnival on Sunday 24th October.
Our picture shows the new TBBS Carnival Princess for 2010 Beth Parrett supported by Skye Still who was selected as Reserve (far left), Beth's 1st Attendant Emma Allen-Jones (2nd left) and her 2nd Attendant Megan Walcroft (right).

Carnival Queen elect Emily Stevens and Carnival Princess elect Sophie Cobb-Evans welcome you and invite you to the 2009 Titchfield Carnival.
Titchfield Carnival was held on Sunday 25th October with all the usual entertainments, processions, activities, music, Carnival Queen and Princess with their Attendants. The weather held out fine for us and encouraged an excellent number of spectators who saw over 20 floats, visiting Royalty from other Carnivals, and a variety of dancing including ballet practice, Fame, a Chinese Dragon, Belly Dancers and even, dare we mention, the famous (?) Titchfield Can Can 'girls'.
Music was provided by the Medina Marching Band, the Fareham Scouts, Big Noise Samba band, the Ramsay Caledonia Pipe band and the HMS COLLINGWOOD Volunteer Band.
Carnival Events actually started on the Friday before, with the Carnival Service at St Peter's. The Royalty was there in their Carnival dresses and did some of the readings.
Pictured below after the Service are the Senior Royalty, including last year's Carnival Queen Alice Kelley in her final official role, the Junior Royalty and the complete party with Revd. Jane Richards who conducted the Service.
The Service was followed by the ever-popular Rings Night at the Queen's Head. Teams of 2 took part in a knock-out competition to score highest on a hoop-la board. The competiton was fierce and some of the teams even appeared to have been practising beforehand.
Sunday September 13th saw another successful Titchfield Village Fayre with lots of activities, stalls, music and events. We have posted some pictures in the Picture Gallery via the Resources page (see link at the top left of the screen).
At a lively Carnival Queen's Dance on Saturday night at the Queen's Head (appropriately), 25th July, EMILY STEVENS, 14, was chosen to be Miss Titchfield 2009 and will be crowned Carnival Queen on Carnival Day, October 25th. Emily's 1st Attendant is CHELSEA WALCROFT, 16, her 2nd Attendant is JESS JOHNSON, also 16, and ZOË COUSINS is the Runner Up.
Eight girls entered the competition and the four judges had a difficult time selecting the winners.
A picture of Emily and her Attendants and other details are on the Royalty page (see top left of this page).
The new Royalty line-up who will take over on Carnival Day are:
Carnival Queen: EMILY STEVENS

Over 100 Rock 'n' Roll fans danced the night away in Titchfield to Greggie G and his Crazy Gang on Saturday 16th May. Backed up by DJ Wilg Wolfie, the fans were treated to a wide range of genuine music which was appreciated by all.
Here are a few pictures.

See the Picture Gallery in the Resources Page for a report and photos from this enjoyable evening on Saturday April 18th at the Parish Rooms.
The Annual General Meeting of the Titchfield Bonfre Boys Society was held at the Parish Rooms on Monday 24th November 2008.
Attended by most of the current committee and supporters from the village, Chairman Nigel Prior presented his report on a successful year seeing the return of the Carnival and a very healthy improvement in Carnival funds, helping to secure the future for the Carnival. Treasurer Ann Whyntie presented the accounts and explained how the improvement had been achieved.
Most of the outgoing committee was happy to stand again and there were some additional volunteers from the floor who offered to stand. Some of these, like the outgoing Chairman, wanted to support the committee as co-opted members: the new committee will be up to full strength when they hold their first meeting at the Queen's Head on Monday 1st December. The Queen's Head has generously offered to host future committee meetings, and this has been gratefully accepted.
Nigel Prior announced his intention of standing down as Chairman having held the post for the last 18 months covering the recovery of the Society's financial situation. To recognise this, Vice Chairman Mark Hussey on behalf of the committee presented Nigel with a framed Bonfire Boys picture montage showing Nigel carrying the TBBS banner (seen behind them in this picture) during the Carnival Walk a year ago. Pictured below is Mark making his presentation to Nigel at the end of the AGM.
